It gives the impression that the company encourages intolerance, homophobia, transphobia and hatred, and discourages the message that being different is okay.īorn This Way is known for being a gay rights anthem, due to the fact that it specifically mentions that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people are born that way and that that's okay and should be embraced, along with every other difference, like race, disability or class. It can also make other kids feel that there's something wrong, unspeakable, or inappropriate about being LGBT+, since it wasn't included in a kids song. ![]() That can make any LGBT+ kids who listen to that song feel excluded, like they don't belong, and like what they are is wrong. This gives the message that promoting tolerance of differences and non-discrimination is not kid-friendly, and it also gives the message that there's something wrong with being LGBT+. This means, for some reason, that they removed the most LGBT-friendly line ("No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgender life"). ![]() However, their version of it is censored to make it "kid-friendly". The CD Kidz Bop 20 was released relatively recently, and it has the song Born This Way on it. ![]()
